How the Dolphin Neurostim Affects Circulation
When our blood circulates, it flows from our heart throughout our bodies, carrying with it important nutrients, like oxygen, and removes contaminants, two things we require in order to maintain healthy skin and muscles. When we have good circulation, our wounds are able to heal faster and better.
If your wound takes months, or even years to heal, and it hasn’t responded to traditional treatment methods, that means it’s a chronic one, and has turned into one because of conditions like poor circulation. For example, people with diseases such as Diabetes are often affected by circulation issues. Individuals suffering from Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy will experience debilitating and painful circulatory problems to their legs. Habits such as smoking also prevent proper circulation due to the fact that nicotine decreases circulation.
Lack of proper circulation can also cause numbness, which makes wounds in areas of poor circulation very dangerous – if you get injured in that particular area, you may not feel it, and it could become infected.
The Dolphin Neurostim™ has the ability to either increase or decrease the amount of blood circulation in the area of injury. To decrease the circulation would be similar to ice therapy and is most beneficial for pain control and reduction of swelling. To increase would be similar to heat therapy and is most beneficial for immune enhancement and neural regeneration. Helping to decrease or increase the blood flow to the area greatly contributes to the natural healing proces
The Dolphin Neurostim and the Nervous System
The key to the treatment of almost all chronic pain conditions is the deregulation (or calming) of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), and the release of physical/mental blockages which seem to keep the ANS in “high” drive.
Upregulation of the Autonomic Nervous System (also referred to as “hypersensitivity”) may be caused by nerve root entrapment, called radiculopathy, misalignment of the spine or mandible, emotional stress such as anxiety or depression, or scars which innervate or energetically influence (through the acupuncture meridians) the hands or face. Whatever the actual cause, the patient is very hypersensitive and displays hypertonic muscles with very tender trigger points. These tightened neck and face muscles result in a patient’s reduced ability to open the mouth.
In order to calm the patient and relax their muscles and reduce anxiety, there are several well known parasympathetic acupuncture points that you can treat with the Dolphin Neurostim™, located on the wrists and top of the head that significantly reduce the Sympathetic Nervous System, calming the patient, reducing muscular tension and permitting deeper tissue work without patient guarding.
From a modern medical perspective, acupuncture represents a wonderfully simple technique of manipulating the nervous system. Another way of looking at this process is by comparing acupuncture’s balancing system (Yin/Yang) with the western neurological (sympathetic/parasympathetic) nervous systems. Like acupuncture, disruptions in the sympathetic/parasympathetic systems will adversely affect organs, emotions, neuro, and muscular activities. Like traditional acupuncture, disruptions in the Autonomic Nervous System will adversely affect organs, emotions, neural and muscular activities, producing pain and disease throughout the body.
Protocols specifically target key points that provide the strongest parasympathetic response and muscular relaxation benefits to the suffering patient. For example, Heart 7 (an acupuncture point located on the inside of the wrist) is labeled as the Valium point for its immediate calming benefits throughout the body after stimulation with the Dolphin Neurostim™.
Most people don’t realize it, but with C-section scars (and any abdominal scarring) there’s the scarring you see on the outside at the incision site, and the scarring you can’t see on the inside – called adhesions. While both can cause issues, adhesions are the primary culprits for much of the chronic pain and dysfunction faced by women who’ve undergone a C-section.
Surgery is the leading cause of adhesions in the body, and C-sections are the number one surgery performed in the United States, with over 1.3 million performed annually in the USA alone. Adhesions develop naturally when there is internal trauma to our bodies, such as a surgical operation. While they’re naturally occurring, they can have adverse affects on our bodies by connecting tissue that shouldn’t be connected, like organs – in fact, women who’ve had a C-section sometimes develop Small Bowel Obstruction, a condition where the intestinal tract is kinked and twisted by adhesions. They also connect to our fascia, the web-like structure that connects all organs and tissues in our bodies. When they connect to our fascia, they can distort it, pulling muscles and pinching nerves. This limits our ability to move freely, and heightens the sensitivity of the autonomic nervous system, which controls our pain.
Abdominal adhesions are fast becoming an epidemic in the United States. Digestive Surgery reported that 90% of patients with abdominal surgeries will develop adhesions. Every year in the United States alone, millions of abdominal surgeries are performed, such as C-sections, appendectomies, hysterectomies, and tummy tucks, and the biggest problem is that not many women are aware of the risks that adhesions pose until after they’ve gone under the knife.
How does the Dolphin Neurostim™ work?
It’s simple! The Dolphin Neurostim™ is applied to each side of visible scars, transferring gentle, DC microcurrent deep into the tissue of the skin. When the microcurrent enters our body, it helps electrically “repolarize,” or release, the thickened scar tissue, as well as release fascia and muscles impinged by the scarring. Circulation is also increased, which, in turn, helps the lymphatic system remove dead cells from the body and encourages blood flow and healing to the area. All of this helps return mobility, improve appearance, and decrease pain both at the site of the scar and anywhere else in the body that scar may be affecting. In many cases, relief can be felt with one application
Releasing Muscles with the Dolphin Neurostim
The Dolphin Neurostim™ is a highly effective device for releasing muscles, which is important for treating chronic pain in everyone from athletes to artists.
One approach to pain management, called the Neuropathic Pain Model, suggests that tightened/shortened muscles cause muscular imbalances around joints and vertebrae, creating structural imbalances and nerve entrapments throughout the body. This asymmetry not only increases degeneration (aging), but the resulting nerve entrapments place the nervous system in a hypersensitive state, causing an amplification of the pain response. Called “Cannon’s Law of Denervation,” it says muscle contraction(s) may be the primary cause of many chronic pain syndromes, due to their strong influence on the nervous system.
The Dolphin Neurostim™ releases muscles through the application of DC microcurrent to specific treatment points that allow the microcurrent to treat the source of the problem as well as the pain that it causes. This is counter to painkillers, which simply mask the problem, rather than actively work to fix it.
Applying the Dolphin Neurostim™ to treatment points, such as acupuncture, trigger, or motor points, that relate to tightened, shortened or contracted muscles releases muscles, reducing pressure on the nerves and relieving pain. Also, by keeping the muscles soft and supple you guard yourself against further injury while at the same time maintaining optimal health of muscle tissue. This process allows your pain levels to be naturally decreased without the use of drugs.
After osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia is known to be the most common musculoskeletal condition. Its main characteristic is muscular/musculoskeletal pain. The other common Fibromyalgia symptoms are fatigue, dry mouth, eyes and nose, stiffness, chronic headaches, incontinence and sometimes depression. However, achiness and pain around the joints in hips, back, shoulders or neck is the most important symptom.
The Dolphin Neurostim™ is an effective, natural and really simple hybrid modality that employs a specialized hand held device for relieving pain and other Fibromyalgia symptoms. It stimulates, using a low frequency microcurrent, the specific points of your body which have been identified as the therapeutically active points for pain relief. This hand held device can help you fight symptoms of Fibromyalgia in 5 ways:
A low frequency and highly concentrated microcurrent is applied to specific points of your body by this hand held device. These points are known to be a proper combination of acupuncture as well as motor and trigger points for the relief from pain like that of Fibromyalgia.
Acting on the Autonomic Nervous System
By exerting its action on the key target points, Dolphin Neurostim™ can calm or simply deregulate your Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). Your ANS sometimes gets abnormally up regulated by emotional stress, nerve problems, injuries, scars and many more harmful conditions similar to Fibromyalgia. Thus, it restores the balance between the two branches of your ANS (the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nervous systems) and reduces the muscular tension and relieves the pain and Fibromyalgia symptoms.
Releasing “feel good hormones” from the brain
Similar to traditional acupuncture needles, the low frequency current of the Dolphin releases endorphins from your brain that are known to make you feel good and also relieve the pain by internally operating mechanisms.
Dolphin Neurostim™ reduces the undue pressure on your nerves and relieves pain. It does so by stimulating the therapeutically active points and trigger points of your body that relate to muscle groups which are shortened/tightened/contracted in Fibromyalgia, thereby releasing them. It also keeps your muscles soft and supple, protecting them against any injury.
The Dolphin Neurostim™ has the ability to maintain good blood circulation in any area where it is applied. This way a sufficient amount of oxygen and nutrients reach your muscles, maintaining their vigour and health and thus playing a role in treating Fibromyalgia symptoms.
